Puppy Love

A Black Lab puppy and my wife

My wife’s not a fan of having her picture online, but I just thought this photo was too cute not to share. Sorry, hon!

Let Us Out!

Hey mister, let us out!

I could hear them trying to send mental signals to me, saying “Mister, put down the flashy thingy, and let us play in your bedroom! We promise not to make (much of) a mess!”

For the record, they were lying. The mess was huge, but they were still adorable.

Zoey

This is Zoey, a Black Lab mix, and foster-sister to The Emmett. Chris Pierce wrote to let me know how much she enjoyed the site, and especially the shots of Emmett. Chris also included a couple really cool pictures, which I always greatly appreciate.

Chris is fostering Zoey, who is great with kids and apparently even likes cats! If you’d like to find out more about this cute pooch, you can check out her adoption profile! She sounds like she would make an awesome addition to any family. Plus, there’s an ultra-cute picture on her profile. Go check it out!

Stumble It!

Friday Fur

Okay, I honestly don’t have a lot to say with this picture. It was just one of the cutest pictures I’ve ever taken, and I had to share it.

Isn’t it just absolutely adorable?

Get ‘Em, Monster!

Sometimes, Monster gets a little over-zealous with our foster dogs. She forgets their around, or just doesn’t see them because we haven’t trimmed her face fur in a while. I think she knows she’s a big klutz, because around the lab puppies that we fostered she tried to be careful, not to knock into them, but every now and then she’d boot them.

This picture, for example? She’s jumping off the picnic table, and has just smashed Bully’s butt, knocking him into Blondie. Don’t worry, Blondie spent the next 10 minutes beating up Bully, and a good time was had by all.

Treat Idea

One of the greatest things my wife ever found out about dogs is that they will eat just about anything you give them. Our girls love carrots, and our foster puppies loved ice cubes.

Cheapest. Treat. Ever!

Puppy Pile!

Blondie stared at me in dismay as I took pictures of her and her siblings. I kept telling her she was such a good girl, but looking at this picture I think she didn’t care; she just wanted me to save her from her evil brothers and sisters that were holding her down.

See, when they would try to nap, Blondie would often be up and about, walking over the tops of their heads, stepping on their little bellies, and generally making a ruckus. The other puppies quickly learned that, if they wanted sleep, they had to keep her on the bottom of the sleeping puppy pile.

I miss the cute little jerks.

Sleep, Eat, Play

The fun part is when one would start barking at the others, yelling at them to give the toy up, and then they would realize that the other two were getting away. It was funny, seeing the realization spread across their face of “Hey, wait, I need to get that!”

Moments later, my big Monster swooped in and dragged them all around, trying to get the toy from them.

Blondie and Lily Playing

The two playing dogs are Lily and Blondie! Looking on in the back there (look at the big picture and you can see one just peeking over Lily’s head) is Wookie. Not pictured here are Vader and Bully.

I named the boys, and Maria (my lovely wife) named the girls. I’m the geek in the relationship, if you can’t tell.

Lab Puppy Week

The local SPCA asked us, after our amazing success with our previous two foster dogs Cody and Pooh Bear, if we would mind taking on a challenge. They had some puppies that needed fostering. Being the kind, dog-loving folks we are, we said “of course!”

We thought two, maybe three, sounded good.

They thought five would be perfect.

These five 8-week-old, not housebroken, Lab puppies (4 Black, 1 Yellow) ruled our lives for almost two weeks. They’re lucky that they are so adorable, because I am not a fan of getting up at 2 AM every day to let out the dogs.

This week I will be featuring these beautiful little puppies. The one here? I have no idea which one it is. It could be Lily, Bully, Vader, or Wookie. Not Blondie though. Can you guess why?
