Mr. Caesar

Mr. Caesar, the Chihuahua

Carl sent in a photo of his Chihuahua, Mr. Caesar. Doesn’t he look like he wants Carl to throw a ball, or give him a treat, or play? He looks ready to go! Chihuahuas and their crazy energy!

Apple Headed Chihuahua

You know how sometimes it seems as though parents named their child just so that child would have a hard time in life? Like “Sonny Day,” or “Eustace?” Well, I think whoever named the Apple Headed Chihuahua had the same idea. Can you imagine what his time in school must have been like? Poor little guy, probably got beat up a lot by the other, non-apple-headed dogs.

Still, at least this little guy here has a cool name to go against his breed name. Chico. Chico’s a cool name, and he seems like a cool dog with attitude. Crystal Mayorico, Chico’s owner, says Chico here is 3 years old, so that means he’s made it past the awkward stage of all the other dogs making fun of him, and survived into the part where he’s too cool for school. Good for him!

Chico, I think you’re cool. Don’t worry about what those other dogs said when you were younger; it’s perfectly fine to be apple-headed.

Happy Valentine’s Day!

Trixie in pink

Most places today will be talking about how love is in the air, the birds are singing, and young men’s thoughts turning to fancy.

Not here, my friends.

Today I want to tell you about a grudge.

Shortly after posting about Chuck, and how I put out a call for pictures of “the cutest dog in the world,” I heard back from Jeffrey Serianni, and he had this to say:

My former boss, Jill Bowman sent me the link to your site today.. with her dog proclaiming to be the cutest dog in the world. I agree that Chuck is pretty darn cute.. but I would have to say that my little 10 month old Chihuahua Trixie might have to take the cake on that title!

Trixie is the cutest puppy ever! She never seems to run out of energy if you’re willing to keep playing with her! And she loves to lick! She will lick your face for an hour if you let her.. haha! We recently got Trixie a little brother, a miniature dachshund named Austin. The two of them have become best friends, and can’t stand to be apart from one another!

And I have to say, Trixie is adorable. Is she the cutest? Is Chuck more adorable? Well, tomorrow there will be a poll, and you, the readers, will decide this conundrum. Come vote for your favorite, you will have until Tuesday, February 17th, to decide the winner in this no-holds-barred Grudge Match!

Oldman

An old, crotchety dog that does not like me.

Oldman? Yeah, I know him. I wouldn’t say we’re on friendly terms though, so I don’t know what I can tell you about him, really.

What’s that? Well, sure, he would say that I assaulted him, but it’s not true. I took his picture while one of the workers at his house (the SPCA) held his leash, but I never touched the guy, even when he tried to take a chunk out of my hand.

Well, no, I don’t think I deserved him trying to do that, but I understand; he’s old and kinda blind, so all he sees me as is a really big blob of something coming at him. I’d be scared too, probably lash out. He couldn’t see my big friendly face. I understand.

Yeah, thanks. I hope everything gets worked out. If you talk with the old guy, please let him know that I hope we can get along in the future.

Comfy Cozy

A comfortable looking chihuahua at the SPCA

Doesn’t this little guy look comfortable, wrapped in that big blue bed? He was a little skittish about the big weird guy pointing some strange little flashing box at him, but he wasn’t going to get up and start barking or anything like that; he was comfortable!

This was taken in the lobby of my local SPCA. They’re nice enough to let me snap pictures when I’m there.
