This is what I love to see at The Doggie Playhouse; dogs playing and having a good time! Photos like this one always make me grin.

Friday, a Yorkie/Lhasa Apso mix is playing with Chloe, a Jack Russell Terrier. The fierce battle raged on for days! Well, probably about 2 minutes, then someone walked in the front door (there’s a little gated-off area for customers to walk into before entering the actual doggy play area) and they both dropped the rope to go bark and the new arrival. That’s my guess for what happened!

Look a second at that title. That’s a lot of words all strung together that essentially describe a cute and proud little black dog. There’s a name for dogs that are so mixed, yet folks seem to be slightly insulted when it’s said, insulted on their dog’s behalf. So, understand that I mean no insult, and in fact and very fond when I dub this little guy “Fraser, the mutt.”

Mutts are great. They usually have less health problems, and even live longer. They can take the best qualities of all their mixes, and be fantastic dogs. They’re normally less “fussy” than their purebred cousins as well.

So Fraser, you’re a mutt, but that’s a good thing!

I hope nobody at The Doggie Playhouse is going to be upset with me for calling their pooch a mutt!

I know what today is, and you know what today is, so I thought it would be a little obvious to have a big prank here today. Instead, I wanted to use this fantastic shot sent in by Sindi Samis of her Jack Russell Terrier, Kylie, meeting a honey bee.

See, not only do I run this site, but these days I’m in charge of a second site as well that updates Monday, Wednesday and Friday. The site is called Insect POD, and features pictures of insects. I thought this shot was a perfect melding of the two, and what better day to bend a few barriers than on April Fool’s day?

So, The Pooch Page, meet Insect POD. Play nice!
