I’VE GOT BIG EYES!

Pugs have huge eyes

It is my belief that all anime characters are based off of Pugs. Their eyes are all ready to pop out of their heads at a moment’s notice!

THE POOCH PAGE IS BACK!!

Whoo!

And this is Biscuit. Isn’t she an adorable little Pug puppy? Just look at those big eyes.

The nitty gritty is this: I don’t know that I’m going to be writing a lot, but I’m going to try to get a dog up every single day. I’ve built myself a relatively big buffer of preloaded pictures. So, if there’s not a lot of talking, but lots of cute pictures of pups (like this Pug here), that should be cool, right?

Pugs Rule!

Alison wrote an email the other day in which she complimented the website, submitted multiple dog pictures, gave a write-up for her adorable dogs, and showed that she knows Pugs rule. How could I not feature her today?

Thank you for your kind words and pictures Alison!

This is what she has to say about Brodie, the black Pug (and about the website, just because it gives me a big ego):

So I stumbled upon your fabulous website one day at work and I fell in LOVE. Nothing makes my day fly by better then pictures of cutie pie doggies! Thought I would send you some pictures of my two little boys. The first picture is of my black pug Brodie……. He is a Cancer and he likes to wear clothes. He is 4 years old and is full of sass! He loves everyone even mean dogs and the mail man.

Brodie sounds like a fantastic dog!

I was waiting for Maria to come out of a meeting. We were downtown, in a neighborhood that made me feel slightly uncomfortable if only because all the stores had barred and locked their doors as soon as the sun went down.

My night was brightened considerably when this little Pug walked by. His owner, Will, was more than happy to allow me to take a few snapshots, and Pug the Pug was very reactive to being called.

Will and I talked for a while, and apparently this little guy goes for an hour long walk, twice a day! That’s more exercise than I get, and I’m a heck of a lot bigger than he is!

Oh, wait. Maybe that’s why I’m a heck of a lot more out of shape than he is too…

Playful Pug

I’ve always thought it strange that pugs come in so many colors. The first one I met was a fawn Pug, like this one. Lightly colored, with a dark muzzle and ears. Small, with a curly tail, and generally friendly. These are what most people think of when they hear Pug.

Then I met General, a black Pug, and didn’t recognize him as the same kind of dog until I was told. Now, knowing him, he is what I think of when I hear the word “Pug.”

There’s a third kind, that I don’t have a picture of right now, a kind of silver-furred Pug.

Either way, I still stand by my statement that Pugs are one of the few dogs that are so ugly that they’re considered cute. What do you think? Ugly, or cute?

General Pugsly Inkwell

This is General, my wife’s first dog.  He passed away earlier this year, but lived a long and full life, with happiness and loving devotion from his family.

The first time I met General, he decided he liked me, so he shared that opinion by “snarfing” all over me.  Essentially, he blew his nose on my face.

I wasn’t a big fan.

Over the years, though, I came to love the little guy, and he’s missed.
