Doggie Daycare!

This is what I love to see at The Doggie Playhouse; dogs playing and having a good time! Photos like this one always make me grin.

Friday, a Yorkie/Lhasa Apso mix is playing with Chloe, a Jack Russell Terrier. The fierce battle raged on for days! Well, probably about 2 minutes, then someone walked in the front door (there’s a little gated-off area for customers to walk into before entering the actual doggy play area) and they both dropped the rope to go bark and the new arrival. That’s my guess for what happened!

Shadow

Labrador Rottweiler Mix
Click for full size

This is Shadow, a Lab/Rottie mix from The Doggie Playhouse. He looks cute! Unfortunately I don’t know a lot about the big dogs at The Doggie Playhouse because their back room (which is for the Big Dogs) is off-limits to the public for insurance reasons, but he looks like a nice pooch! He looks like he wants to say hi, and definitely seems well-behaved for the camera! So many times when I try to take dog pictures all I get is a blur.

I got up at 5am this morning with my own dogs, and started my day. Why is it that every normal day, my two girls are tuckered out in the morning until about 8 or 9 am, but on Friday, when they should save their energy to go play at The Doggie Playhouse, they’re wild and hyper? I try to tell them not to use up all of their energy before they go play, but they never listen. Just one of those things, I suppose.

My Ball!

I think this pooch’s name is “Foster.” I think he likes that ball, and I think he’s not going to give it to you. Don’t even try, because he can run around faster than you. That’s what I think his look says.

Or maybe it says he’s tired, and please, come get this ball off him, he’d like to take a nap.

Or maybe he’s just cute. Yeah, he’s cute. Cute for the win!

Thank you The Doggie Playhouse for sharing this cute pooch with us!

Dylan the Yorkie

A Yorkie named Dylan

Another Friday picture from The Doggie Playhouse! I contemplated putting Dylan, a cute little Yorkie from doggy daycare, up as one of the competitors for “Cutest Pooch,” but just thought it would be unfair to the rest of the competitors. Just look at him! He knows he’s already won, and doesn’t need a competition to prove it!

Now if I recall correctly, Dylan is usually one of the dogs that will run up to the gate when someone new enters the area, but isn’t a big barker. He just likes meeting new people! Or, you know, I could be thinking of someone else; it’s difficult to keep them all straight! I don’t know how the ladies at The Doggie Playhouse do it, but somehow they know each dog’s name on sight, without even a second thought. It’s impressive!

Dakota

Dakota, a Chocolate Lab
Click for full size

If Dakota could talk you might hear:

Ball! Ball! Ball! Come get it! Play with me! Throw the ball! Get the ball! Ball! BALL!

Of course, I imagine most dogs talk about either what they’re doing right at that moment, or food that they want.

Thank you Kelli from The Doggie Playhouse for sending in this picture! Dakota’s definitely a cutie, and I’d imagine keeps you on your toes while there for the day!

Don’t forget to vote for your favorite cute pooch!

Charlie the Tibetan Terrier

Charlie the Tibetan Terrier

This is Charlie the Tibetan Terrier from The Doggie Playhouse, and he wanted me to tell you that if you have a friend for him to play with, you should send him over there so they can romp all day!

Personally most of you know I’m a sucker for big, dopey dogs, but isn’t this guy adorable, and so intelligent looking? I just love his face!

Cole, or “Why I Love Friday.”

Cocker Spaniel playing
Click for full size

You know why I look forward to Fridays? It’s not the fact that I’m home alone, my girls at The Doggie Playhouse, but that when they come home they’re two of the most happy and tired dogs I know.

I always wondered why my girls come home so tired, and now that Kelli has been sending me photos of some of the other dogs there, I know. See, at least half the photos I’ve seen so far are of the dogs with toys, running back to the camera! I’m guessing that the ladies of The Doggie Playhouse end the day just as tired as these dogs!

This adorable little guy is Cole, and it looks like he’s going to be going home happy and tired, doesn’t it?

The Emmett

The Emmett, getting a bath
Click for full size

I’ve recently learned that when I showed Emmett before, I was getting his name wrong! He’s not just Emmett, he is “The Emmett” as you’ll see if you look through the pictures from The Doggie Playhouse*. You’ll see him everywhere because he’s such a photogenic and well-behaved pooch!

I mean, just look at him! He’s not taking a bath right now. Oh, no. He’s getting ready to greet his adoring public!

Kelli, from The Doggie Playhouse submitted this photo, and I knew it had to go up because I was laughing out loud the moment I saw it. Kelli and her staff are fantastic with the dogs (we send our girls to the daycare every Friday so they can get out their energy and play with their friends), and I’m really happy to have them helping me come up with cool pictures like this one.

*Actually, that’s only one of 6 very large albums of absolutely gorgeous pups. To see the other albums, go check out their main page, linked above, or follow the links through the photobucket account, also linked above!

Emmett the Goldendoodle

Emmit the Goldendoodle needs a haircut!
Click for full size

Is Emmett in need of a haircut, or a good brush out?

No!

It’s all about the lighting. In this picture I didn’t use a flash, and somehow it made it look as though this big fluff ball was a shaggy dog. In reality he’s very well groomed and fluffy. If you look at yesterday’s post you’ll see a big difference in the pictures.

I’m still learning about taking dog pictures, but I have to say that Emmett was probably one of the most well-behaved dogs to date. He would look right at me, and seemed to pose for the camera. It’s only fair that I give him the proper lighting he deserves!

Emmett

Emmit the dog is famous!
Click for full size

This is Emmit the Goldendoodle. Isn’t he precious? Apparently lots of people think so! His owner is always being asked if people can take Emmit’s picture, and Emmit’s even appeared in the news a few times!

I think this is the first time I’ve ever had a celebrity on my website. Good thing I got the lighting right!

Tomorrow, I’ll show you what my picture looked like without the proper lighting. Let’s just say that it made it look as though Emmit needed a really good combing.
